Hello friend!

I hope you had an excellent summer. Mine was jam packed with shows from Boston to Kansas City. I met many great folks along they way and played some excellent new venues. I’m already working on my return tour for next summer!
Next up is a full band DC show this Friday, a short tour in MD, PA and VA with excellent singer/songwriter and killer guitar player Will Kimbrough. And TEXAS!! Yes, I’m coming to Texas in October/November, then back to Boston for a November 14 show at Brighton Music Hall with Girls, Guns and Glory and Miss Tess. There are other shows in between and after — check the list below for all dates.
Thank you for your incredible support. I’m 8 months into doing this full-time and it’s your encouragement that keeps me going!
Peace and love,

The midwest tour: Two people, one Matrix, one drum kit, one guitar, 5,000 miles, 12 shows in 12 cities and so many awesome folks along the way!
Blast off from Somerville, Massachusetts! Our lab Sophie is in the photo, but she stayed home with a great caregiver. She’s happier on the couch than in the car!
This was first time that hubby, Ryan, played shows with me. He’s been learning the drums for the last two years so he can tour with me. Is that love, or what? <3 He’s a teacher and has his summer free for touring!
It was our first time in Cleveland, Ohio. And, yes, Cleveland does ROCK. So does the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern!
Columbus, Ohio rocked as well. We played this great place called Natalie’s for the first time and loved it! Then the next night shot a cool video in a barber shop.
We did several in-studio performances for radio shows along the way including Folk Alley in Kent, OH and KDHX in St. Louis both recorded and filmed the session.

We had a couple of relaxing days with new friend/fans in St. Paris, OH. Can’t wait to return to their beautiful homestead in May for a Possum Hollow Log Cabin concert!
We really enjoyed the new venues we played including Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn (Chicago) and Knuckleheads in Kansas City (pictured). It’s so refreshing to play at venues that are really about the music. It’s THE BEST!
We spent A LOT of time on the road and made our way through tons of CDs. Yes, we are old school. No way to plug the iPod into the car, so it was stacks of CDs, baby! A guilty pleasure — singing to Neil Diamond at the top of our lungs! : ) “Love on the rocks…”
We were mostly inside for shows, but did play an outdoor festival on a beautiful day in downtown Woodstock, IL (where Groundhog Day was filmed)!

While touring we got to see family who live in the Midwest and South. It was a our first visit with our new little great niece in Indiana (so cute!) and my parents who live in Nashville came to visit us in Louisville. Loved getting to see them.

Taking a bow. Thank you to all the wonderful music lovers who came out to our first shows in these great cities. We will be back again next summer!
Five shows celebrating some of the best music ever recorded!
After recording in Muscle Shoals, AL this past summer, I put on a Muscle Shoals music show in Boston with friend and fellow singer/songwriter (and rocker!) Sarah Borges. It went so great that we kept it going — this summer it was Maine, Connecticut and several Massachusetts shows with audiences as high of 150 per show. It was great to see so many folks come out and enjoy this great music.
Stay tuned for more on a new Muscle Shoals-themed recording project!

Ryan and I found a few ways to pass the time while in the car. One was singing. We both grew up going to church and singing a lot of hymns. We know other songs too, but the harmonies come so easy on songs that we’ve sung all of our lives. We recorded some of these songs while in the car and put them on Facebook. Seems they were a hit! We got messages from folks saying that they watched all of them with the family and were looking forward to more. Here they are in case you missed them…
(you’ll be prompted to log in first and then will go to the videos)
