An Evening at Music City Roots in Nashville

Screen Shot 2014-05-02 at 2.02.36 PMLast week I got the chance to return to the excellent Nashville show, Music City Roots hosted by Jim Lauderdale. It was my first time back in three years. The first time I was on, I got to share the stage with a band called The BoKeys — this time, the headliner was Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls (who was super nice, by the way).

Once again, I had a blast. I brought a killer band with me, including Lex Price on bass, who also produced my album “This Is Home” and Paul Griffith on drums who played on my “Muscle Shoals Session” EP. Good guys and GREAT players! Will Kimbrough had planned to play, but was deterred and got an excellent player, Kris Donelan, as his sub. And on keys was Jimmy Wallace, who did a stellar job. The audience was great and did an excellent job singing along on Cat’s in the Kitchen!

You can watch the entire performance of this episode below OR scroll down a bit to watch just one of the songs, Nobody Knows You.
